The ACE is a modular personal protective equipment (PPE) design that soldiers can scale up or down for performing demining, mine clearance, UXO and booby trap clearance during peacetime and conflict.
The ACE starts with a Vest. Soldiers can add Trousers, Sleeves, and either Blast Plates or Ballistic Plates to achieve the levels and areas of protective coverage necessary for the task at hand.
The chest area covered by the vest provides NIJ IIIA ballistic protection and can be increased.
