Bausch & Lomb Japan has named Francisco Ascencion as president, effective immediately. Mr. Ascension has been serving as interim president since mid-January.

Mr. Ascencion joined Bausch & Lomb in 2003 in the Corporate Audit Group. In 2004, he was named director of finance and operations for the company’s Mexican and Latin American Distributors businesses. In 2006, he was appointed controller of Bausch & Lomb Japan. Prior to joining Bausch & Lomb, he worked for Valeo Electrical Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coopers & Lybrand.

“With his knowledge of and experience with Bausch & Lomb Japan, Francisco is well suited to this role. During his brief time as interim president, he has already implemented a series of important organizational and structural changes that represent the foundation for our future,” said Mitsuo Hirose, chairman, Bausch & Lomb Japan. “We are confident that with his leadership, the company will continue to deliver enhanced value to our customers in the form of shared insight, and through increased efficiency and greater speed to market.”

Mr. Ascencion holds a degree in Strategic Administration from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Monterrey (ITESM) and obtained his CPA from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
